We had come home for church to change clothes and then left to go eat lunch. We weren't even gone 2 hours as we arrived back after stuffing ourselves at one of our local Arlington favorites. We opened the door and to my dismay Sam had once again gotten himself in a little trouble.
See, both of the boys have gotten into the bad habit of finding things on our kitchen counter while we are away. We are sure Max compells Sam to stand up and drag whatever is on the counter off onto the floor so Max can then tear it to shreds. Though we have not proven this via hidden "nanny cam", we know it to be true. You can see it on their guilty faces.
This day was another one of those times.
Anyway, we came in and to my surprise there were cotton balls strewn all over the place. Sam had gotten them off the counter and both had decided it was fun to string them all over the living room floor. But, it gets better.
See, Sam has this tradition of bringing us a toy in his happiness of us coming home. Anytime we come home he does his "bean dance" as we call it, grabs a toy and runs around in circles, in pure delight. It is totally hilarious. He will not stop until he finds a toy to bring you either....
Well, on this day he ran outside to get his toy (we have a doggie door) and came bounding back in with one in his mouth. I didn't recognize it either. But upon further inspection.....it was an ENTIRE LOAF of wheat bread! LOL! Evidently he had gotten Julie's expensive bread, bought at Whole Foods Market 20 miles from our house, and we both totally died laughing.
He looked so darn cute and he obviously had no clue that this was NOT a toy and NOT a thing he should be proudly demonstrating to his loving parents! We tried to scold him, but just threw the bread away and laughed into the night....
Sometimes it's all you can do.
